“The set is designed taking into account various situations in which wounded military personnel may find themselves. It will contain hygiene products, which are especially important in the first days of stay in medical institutions, special dishes that will facilitate eating and drinking, as well as adaptive clothing,” the department said.
According to Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov, “we are working on simplifying the provision of medical care to military personnel. New clothes do not need to be removed – it is enough to unfasten special fasteners for quick access to the place of injury. This significantly speeds up medical manipulations and helps save precious time that can save lives. Taking care of our defenders is our duty and priority.”
The “wounded person’s package” for female defenders will differ from the male one, taking into account their needs, the Ministry of Defense clarified.
It is known that the set will be issued to wounded servicemen from the moment of providing medical assistance at a stabilization point or inpatient facility.
“The wounded man’s package” is one of the important initiatives of the Ministry of Defense to support our servicemen during their treatment and recovery after injuries received during combat missions,” noted Deputy Minister of Defense Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.
Testing of adaptive clothing was carried out in October last year in the Zaporozhye region, the Ministry of Defense concluded. The department also emphasized that “in order to launch the project, the Cabinet of Ministers must adopt an appropriate resolution on its financing.”
Earlier it became known that the government’s resolution on the introduction of the “wounded person’s package” is expected this week, Dana Yarova, adviser to the Deputy Minister of Defense, member of the Public Anti-Corruption Council under the Ministry of Defense, said on January 7.
