Polish presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki said that he does not see Ukraine in either the EU or NATO.
“Mr. Kaczynski, your candidate, Karol Navrotskyi, said that he does not see a place for Ukraine in NATO. Do you remember which president supported Ukraine the most on this issue? And who is the most against it? Aren’t you ashamed?” – wrote the Prime Minister.
Earlier, in one of the television broadcasts, Navrotsky was asked what his opinion is about the fact that the elected president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, does not see Ukraine in NATO.
Polsat News writes that the candidate for the presidency of Poland, Nawrocki, has a “firm opinion” on this issue. He stated that he does not see Ukraine “in any structure – “neither in the European Union nor in NATO”.
“Today, I do not see Ukraine in any structure – neither in the European Union, nor in NATO, until such important civilizational issues for Poles are resolved. A country that is unable to answer for a very brutal crime against 120 thousand of its neighbors cannot be a part of international alliances,” Navrotskyi said.
What did Trump say about Ukraine’s membership in NATOEarlier, UNIAN reported that on January 7 at a press conference, Trump said that long before the invasion of Ukraine, Russia said that Ukraine would never be a member of NATO. At the same time, according to the president-elect of the USA, the current president, Joe Biden, was in favor of Ukraine having the opportunity to join the Alliance. And because of this, Trump noted, he understands the feelings of the Russians.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reacted to Trump’s statement. He advised not to draw “one or other conclusions about US policy.” He also noted that currently Ukraine is not a member of NATO due to the position of not only the USA, but also Germany, Hungary and Slovakia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga, in response to what Trump said, noted that the Russian Federation has not changed its position and continues to seek to destroy Ukraine.
