Details: The resolution emphasizes that the safe participation of Israeli leaders in the celebrations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp in Auschwitz is considered “as part of honoring the Jewish people, whose millions of daughters and sons became victims of the Holocaust committed by the Third Reich.”
In this regard, “the Polish government declares that it will ensure the free and safe participation of the highest representatives of Israel in these celebrations,” the document reads.
It will be recalled that in November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant for “war crimes and crimes against humanity” in Gaza.
Poland, as a state party to the Rome Statute of the ICC, is obliged to arrest Netanyahu if he comes to the country.
The Court stated that they rely on member states to enforce their decisions.
