According to Meloni, it is possible to convince Moscow to sit down at the negotiating table only if it is possible to put it in a difficult position:
“I do not expect the US to withdraw from Ukraine. Trump has the ability to balance diplomacy and deterrence, and I predict that this will be the case this time as well.”
Maloney is considered one of the closest European leaders to Trump, so her supporters hope that she will become a “bridge” between Washington and Europe.
