Law enforcement officers detained the spouses of Russian agents who made an explosive device for a terrorist attack near the TCC in Dnipro on December 14, 2024. About this UNN reports with reference to the SBU.

Two agents who acted separately from the “perpetrator” of the terrorist attack and made him an improvised explosive device were detained. They turned out to be a 33-year-old deserter who voluntarily left the military unit of Ukraine and was hiding in the Dnipro River, and his 25-year-old wife.

While searching for “easy” earnings on Telegram channels, they came into the field of view of the special services of the Russian Federation, which later recruited the couple remotely.

According to the instructions of the occupiers, they made explosives, and then hid them in a bag and put them in a predetermined hiding place.

After that, the traitors remotely watched how the “executor” took the SVP from the hiding place, which they reported to their Russian curator via messenger.

So that their forays would not arouse suspicion, the participants took their 3-year-old child with them.

After the terrorist attack, according to the SBU, the spouses of Russian agents moved to another rented apartment. There they tried to “confuse their tracks” and “lie down” in order to continue cooperation with the Russian Federation.

Law enforcement officers arrested both criminals at their new address. During the search, mobile phones and clothes with evidence of crimes, as well as Russian instructions for making explosives, were seized from them.

Currently, both detainees have been notified of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • ch. 2, 3 Art. 258 (terrorist act committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy, resulting in the death of a person);
    • h 1 Art. 14 (preparation for a crime).

      They are currently in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
