Scheinbaum also showed on a historical map of the 17th century that Mexico used to control part of the present-day territories of the United States.
“Why don’t we call them ‘Mexican America’? That sounds cute, doesn’t it?” she added.
In addition, Scheinbaum joked that Trump must not be aware of who is the current president of Mexico, mentioning the country’s former president Felipe Calderon and former public safety minister García Luna, who was sentenced to more than 38 years in a US prison for receiving bribes from the drug cartel.
“I think he was told that Felipe Calderon and García Luna still rule in Mexico. But no. The people rule in Mexico,” she emphasized.
