The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine advises Hungary to recognize that its priority is the strengthening of Russia, rather than the EU and the USA.

Ukraine is ready to take Hungary's place in the EU and NATO, the statement of the Ministry of Foreign AffairsThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a sharp statement regarding Hungary / UNIANThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Ukraine is ready to take a vacant seat in the European Union and NATO if Hungary decides to vacate it in favor of membership in the CIS and CSTO. This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“Another manipulative statements by the leadership of Hungary that Ukraine’s decision not to extend the transit agreement with the aggressor state of the Russian Federation from 2025 allegedly had a negative impact on prices for consumers are part of a politically motivated information campaign for domestic consumption,” the statement reads.

In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that in the statement dated January 1, 2025, the European Commission clearly stated that the previously announced decision of Ukraine did not have a negative impact on the energy security of the EU countries and on consumer prices on the European market.

“The only cause of problems in Europe’s energy market has always been Russia. For decades, the Kremlin has used energy as a weapon, blackmailing European governments and undermining energy security. With the start of full-scale aggression against Ukraine, Russia has become an existential threat to stability and peace on the European continent. As a result, the era Europe’s dependence on Russian energy carriers is coming to an end,” the statement emphasized.

In addition, the European Commission and European governments are successfully working together to diversify supply sources and increase energy independence. All European countries found an opportunity to provide their economy and people with alternative energy carriers from the USA and the Middle East.

“Only two of the twenty-seven EU countries failed to cope with this task, and now they are trying to transfer their problems from a sick head to a healthy one,” the statement noted.

Along with the fact that, as the statement says, trying against common sense to maintain dependence on Russia, these two countries also effectively prevent access to the European energy market from the US and other partners.

“If the priority for the Hungarian side is the strengthening of Russia, rather than the EU and the USA, then it should be frankly admitted. Ukraine will be ready to take a vacant place in the EU and NATO if Hungary decides to vacate it in favor of membership in the CIS or the CSTO. If Hungary really wants to help end the war, it should start by not destroying unity in the EU, and instead strengthening the energy security and independence of its own country and citizens with the rest Europe and the USA,” the statement emphasizes.
