Sikorsky: Europe may soon be pressured to reach an agreement with Russia

“We must do everything possible to improve Kyiv’s position in the upcoming negotiations””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

European countries may soon face intense pressure to reach an agreement with Russia, but everything must be done to improve Kyiv’s position in future negotiations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslav Sikorski wrote about this on his page on the X network.

“What agreement can a reasonable Europe agree to? Certainly not a simple agreement that will allow Moscow to recover. Europe is much stronger than Russian leaders believe. Russia is much weaker than many Europeans think,” the politician emphasized.

He noted that peace in Ukraine must be on fair terms.

“Ukraine deserves peace, it needs peace. But it should be peace on fair terms, not capitulation.
We should not put hard time limits on our support: that would encourage Russia to keep fighting. Instead, we should do everything possible to improve Kyiv’s position in future negotiations,” the post reads.

US President-elect Donald Trump, whose inauguration is scheduled for January 20, has repeatedly stated that he wants to end Russia’s war against Ukraine as soon as possible.

Previously, analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) proved that the Kremlin does not seek to make compromises in the war against Ukraine, but wants its complete surrender.

Kyiv has repeatedly stated that it cannot agree to any territorial concessions by Russia or freezing of the conflict. Such a freeze, according to the Ukrainian authorities, will only help Russia better prepare for a new attack on Ukraine.
