ERMAKOV: “Carpathians played well against Ingulets, but the goalkeeper saved them”

Assistant head coach “Karpat” Igor Ermakov talked about his feelings when the Lviv team plays in the UPL against Ingulets, where he worked before, and also evaluated the game of the opponent’s goalkeeper Alexei Palamarchuk:

“I really want to beat them. Unfortunately, when we played at home, it didn’t work out. At that time, “Carpathians” were in a state that did not allow them to show a stable high level. However, we played this game very well, created many chances, unlike previous matches. But, unfortunately, even penalties were not implemented.

Ingults goalkeeper Aleksey Palamarchuk saved his team in that match. This is a super goalkeeper. I am very happy for Alexei. At his age, he was able to change himself and made great progress. I think he can still change the team and take a big step forward. Let’s put it this way, now he is at the height of his career, and not at its end. This will be a step that he will remember.

Some guys said that he should be taken as the third goalkeeper in the Ukrainian national team. Especially thanks to his ability to save penalties. That would definitely help. Although in “Karpaty” he does not need such a position yet – everything is completed.

He is an excellent person, although we are all different. He has his moments, but he always listens to advice. His current level of play is entirely due to Bohdan Shust, the goalkeeping coach. Yes, I am sure, he will show himself again. His skills and efficiency deserve attention.”
