The head of the State Customs Service is suspected of not declaring a house near Kyiv to NABU

On January 6, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office notified the acting head of the State Customs Service of the suspicion, according to the NABU report.

“According to the investigation, in 2021-2023, the suspect did not show in the e-declaration information about the residential building near Kyiv with an area of ​​236.8 square meters and the land plot where it is located. The investigation established that the official registered the real estate worth more than 100,000 US dollars for his wife’s father, while in fact he and his family are the actual owners,” the message reads.

The event was qualified under Part 1 of Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Deliberate introduction by the subject of the declaration of knowingly inaccurate information to the declaration of a person authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government”). The sanction of the article provides for a fine of three thousand to four thousand non-taxable minimum income of citizens or public works for a period of 150 to 240 hours or restriction of freedom for a period of up to two years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
