Today I held a Staff meeting, and there was also a lengthy separate report by Chief Commissar Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Barhylevych. The first is the protection of our front lines, Pokrovska first of all. I am grateful to all the brigades, to each of our soldiers, who are right there right now. We discussed the issue of team composition, as well as rotation. The Army needs more internal systemic changes to make people management effective at all levels in the Defense Forces. There were also today detailed reports of the responsible commanders regarding the formation and training of our brigades.
The second is the Kursk operation. Today is exactly five months since the beginning of our actions in Kurshchyna, and we are maintaining a buffer zone on Russian territory, actively destroying Russian military potential there. During the Kursk operation, the enemy already lost more than 38,000 of his soldiers – only in this direction, about 15,000 of them – irretrievably. The Russians have transferred their strong units to Kurshchyna, soldiers from North Korea are involved there. It is important that the occupier cannot now direct all this force to our other directions, in particular to Donetsk region, in particular against Sumy, in particular to Kharkiv region or Zaporizhzhia. I thank all our soldiers who are bringing the war home to Russia and giving more security and more strength to Ukraine. Today I held a meeting with international experts – planning our meetings and negotiations for January. We speed up the supply of weapons to Ukraine and work for new and longer-term relations with partners. We are preparing good diplomatic news for Ukraine.
