“He’s terrible.” The British journalist criticized the player of the Ukrainian national team

British journalist Callum Brennan commented on the news about the start of negotiations between Everton and the Ukrainian defender Vitaly Mykolenko regarding the extension of cooperation between them.

“It’s an interesting question because I think a lot of it depends on the context – how much do we pay Mykolenko, are we going to pay him with the intention of making him the main left-back. But I hope not.

I think this is one of those cases where it will be a low salary. And if it’s been made clear to him that there’s no guarantee he’ll be a first-team player, then I can understand that.

But at the same time, he’s been terrible this season. Possibly the worst left back in the Premier League in terms of performance.

I consider this moment interesting – why the club offered him a new contract. Maybe they think he’ll have some value in the summer, or maybe he’ll just be a reserve player and the club just want to spread the funds somehow.

I really think it’s an interesting question and given the amount of backlash I’m surprised the club started thinking about it. This confuses me.

Nevertheless, I hope that Mykolenko can turn things around, because I think he has certain qualities to become a good left back. But I think that to a large extent it is his personal mistakes on a psychological level that are hindering him,” said Brennen on the YouTube channel The Toffee Blues – Everton Fan Channel.
