Italy has allocated 13 million euros for the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine, the Italian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, UNN reports.

Details

“On the recommendation of Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Italy has provided €13 million for the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine. At a time when attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure are intensifying, this decision is a significant step in the efforts to rebuild energy systems damaged by the conflict. Italy’s contribution – one of the most significant by a single country – will help stabilize the electricity supply to millions of war-affected Ukrainians in this difficult period,” the Italian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that with this contribution, Italy “reaffirms its continued support for the sustainability of the Ukrainian energy sector, including through the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine to be held in Rome next July.”

For reference

The Energy Support Fund for Ukraine was established by the Energy Community with the support of the European Commissioner for Energy.

Consolidated funds from the Fund’s donors are used to restore the energy infrastructure that was damaged or destroyed as a result of hostilities in Ukraine initiated by the Russian military aggression.
