Within the framework of the initiative of the President of Ukraine “Winter Support”, the Cabinet of Ministers is implementing the project “Teacher’s supplement”, which provides for a monthly additional payment for teachers in the amount of 1000 hryvnias.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that these payments will be made from January 2024. From September 1, 2024, the amount of the additional payment will increase to 2,000 hryvnias.
Also, Shmyhal emphasized the allocation of significant funds for the development of education and the creation of safe conditions in educational institutions. In particular, for this purpose, the government allocated UAH 7.5 billion to ensure security and build shelters. UAH 1.2 billion will be allocated to the purchase of school buses, and UAH 2.8 billion will be allocated to free meals for primary school students.
In addition, the government allocated UAH 4.6 billion in subventions for the first half of 2024 to finance the “Teacher’s Supplement” program, as well as UAH 305 million to support children with special educational needs. 150 million hryvnias have also been allocated for teacher training as part of the “New Ukrainian School” program.
Earlier, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) handed over 10 autonomous welding machines to Ukraine. They should help in the quick repair of the energy infrastructure.
Ukraine plans to receive 20 billion dollars from the United States through a special fund of the World Bank. These funds will not need to be returned if Ukraine does not receive reparations from Russia.
