One of the most shocking decisions was the announcement of the writer and poet Serhii Zhadan, who has been actively supporting the Ukrainian army since 2014. In June 2024, he officially joined the Defense Forces of Ukraine, becoming part of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard “Charter”.

Comedian and founder of the humorous project “Lions on a Jeep” Andrii Luzan also joined the ranks of the ZSU. After the start of the war, the comedian actively participated in volunteer activities, supporting the army and helping to raise funds for the needy. His decision to mobilize became a logical continuation of his active civic position, because he not only helped on the home front, but was also ready to stand up for the defense of his country.

31-year-old blogger Oleksiy Shkrobinets, who is known on YouTube under the pseudonym Tyler Anderson, also joined the ZSU in April 2024. He wrote to his subscribers that in the near future he will not be able to release new videos due to mobilization, and left to serve for the future of Ukraine.

The story of the members of the Ukrainian quartet “Budmo” attracted special attention. In August 2024, at a concert in Kalusha, the musicians received summons right during the performance. After that, all four members of the band were mobilized to the 102nd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense. They hope that after the end of the war they will be able to return to their musical career, but for now they are ready to fight for the future of Ukraine.

Maria Agapitova, Ukrainian actress of the Lesya Ukrainka Theater, decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the war with Russia. However, she was denied mobilization in 2022, with the promise that her time would come. And so, in June 2024, this moment came – the actress announced on social networks that she stood up for the defense of the Motherland, joining the ranks of the Armed Forces.

The actor, known for his role in the TV series “Promise to God”, Yuriy Felipenko decided to join the “Achilles” assault battalion of the 92nd separate assault brigade. On his Instagram page, he shared a video where he takes the oath together with his brothers. Yuriy Felipenko was already a member of the Kyiv City Council, and was also actively involved in volunteering. He emphasizes that now it is important to support the army, even by making small donations. The actor is convinced that together Ukraine can overcome any difficulties.
