NAEC “Ukrenergo” held a special auction for the purchase of automatic frequency restoration reserves (aRVC) for a period of five years. This was reported by the company’s press service. The winners of the aRVC services auction will have a contract with Ukrenergo fixed in euros. Investors will have until mid-November 2025 to build a new power plant, pass equipment certification and start providing services from January 1, 2026.Advertisement: It is noted that in a year, new balancing capacities will appear in the Ukrainian power system. According to preliminary results, this is more than 100 MW of new generating capacity, in addition to those to be built based on the results of the August auction. The sum of the accepted proposals is 55 MW for the load service (increasing the supply of electricity to the network) and 1785 MW for the symmetrical reserve (the ability to both increase and decrease the load). The average price is UAH 1,271.32/MW for symmetrical reserve and UAH 908/MW for load reserveAdvertisement: Eight potential suppliers participated in the auction. The final results of the auction will be known after the end of the time allotted for appeals.
