The law enforcement officers identified and in absentia announced the suspicion of three members of the illegal armed formation of the Russian Federation, who tortured a civilian during the temporary occupation of Kherson.

The extras are two natives of the Donetsk region and a Crimean. The investigation established that during the temporary seizure of Kherson, they joined the formation of the “State Security Service of the Kherson Region”, created on the basis of the FSB of the Russian Federation. Their task was to suppress the resistance movement and any manifestations of non-recognition of the invading pseudo-authority.
It is noted that in September 2022, the perpetrators broke into the house of a resident of the village of Bekhtera. Threatening to rape and using physical force, they conducted a search, after which they forcibly took the man to the torture chamber in Kherson. On the way, the victim was beaten and electrocuted.
For more than a month, the man was illegally detained in the basement of the seized office building. He was beaten, strangled, simulated shooting, forced to sign fabricated confessions and filmed. Later, the victim was released.
All three perpetrators are charged with war crimes, one of them is additionally charged with treason and participation in an illegal armed formation.
Earlier it was reported that Russian invaders tortured to death 45-year-old local resident Volodymyr Zakablyuk in the city of Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast.
In addition, the Prosecutor General’s Office sent an indictment to the court against three Russian servicemen involved in war crimes during the occupation of the village of Novopetrivka, Bashtan District, Mykolaiv Oblast.
