Polissia has informed Karpaty of its intention to activate the buyout option of central midfielder Maksym Melnichenko, reports the official website of Lviv residents.

The Zhytomyr team leased the 19-year-old Ukrainian until the end of the 2024/25 season, but the right to purchase him was stipulated in the relevant agreement between the UPL clubs. Soon, Polissya should announce the full-fledged transfer of Melnichenko.

The defender joined the Carpathians as a free agent in the summer of 2024. Before that, he played for the youth team (U-19) Dnipro-1.

Maxim has participated in eight matches in all tournaments of the current campaign. He was not distinguished by effective actions.
