Viktor Braginskyi in March of this year, after a journalistic investigation, wrote a statement about his dismissal from the post of head of the Kyiv Metropoliten KP.
In November, law enforcement officers charged him with improper performance of official duties. The suspicion concerns the flooding of the tunnels between the “Demiivska” and “Lybidska” stations.

On December 8 of last year, the Kyiv City State Administration reported the suspension of metro trains on the section between Teremky and Demiivska stations: a total of six stations. The authorities explained that due to “uneven processes of densification, vibration creep of the surrounding soil massif and the load on the tunnel framework, there was a risk of losing the stability of the tunnel structures.”
At that time, it was reported that the work of this section was stopped for approximately six months. Traffic on this section was restored only in September of this year.
The tunnels between the “Demiivska” and “Lybidska” stations were built in the floodplain of the Lybid river in 2008-2010. “Demiivska” station, the construction of which began in 2005, was opened in December 2010, “Teremky” – in November 2013.
