Digitization of all documents from the archive of the Bureau of Technical Inventory (BTI) was completed in Kyiv. Digitization will help prevent fraud through the forgery of documents for illegal possession of real estate.
Andriy Hudz, director of the Municipal Property Department of the city of Kyiv, announced this.
“Digitization of documents is an important step for preserving the archive, an opportunity to make it mobile and invulnerable. It is important that we managed to save and restore those documents that were in extremely bad condition. From now on, the threat of their loss has passed, and they will be available as long as needed,” Hudz said.
He recalled the experience of 2022, when a significant number of archival documents in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Mariupol and Gostomel were lost due to hostilities.
Digitization is also aimed at combating fraud, in particular the forgery of documents for illegal possession of real estate. According to Gudzia, the digital archive minimizes the risks of raiding on both public and private property.
We will remind you that earlier Ukraine suffered the largest cyber attack on state registers in recent times. As a result of the attack carried out by Russian hackers, the operation of key systems of the Ministry of Justice was temporarily suspended. The hackers said they destroyed all the data they had access to, including backups on servers in Poland. State registers will be restored for two weeks.
