Cobra Kai is ready to land its final blow.
The hit Netflix series from creators Hayden Schlossberg, Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz has been rolling out its final season in three parts. Following the release of Parts 1 and 2, Cobra Kai will now conclude with its series finale on Feb. 13, 2025 with Part 3/The Finale Event. Each part consists of five episodes.
Netflix in its announcement noted that while this may be the end, “we’re not good at goodbyes … because Cobra Kai never dies!”
Schlossberg, Heald and Hurwitz are keen to continue on with their karate universe, talking recently with The Hollywood Reporter about the potential for spinoffs, including a possible Mr. Miyagi prequel. “The show will end our love for The Karate Kid, but our desire to play in The Karate Kid sandbox doesn’t end,” said Schlossberg when speaking with his co-creators after Part 2. “It’s just that this is a story that really followed the redemption of Johnny Lawrence [played by William Zabka], and that story is going to come to a close. … Whether that’s delving into some of the characters and their pasts or where their future lies ahead, there will definitely be a lot of potential that you’ll see in those last episodes.”
Part 2 saw the return of a key villain and ended with a fatal blow, as a tournament death will reverberate heading into Part 3.
Here’s the logline and teaser (below) for Part 3: “After a shocking result in the Sekai Taikai, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai must reckon with their pasts while facing an uncertain future both on and off the mat. Almost 40 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, it’s all been leading to this.”
The sprawling cast includes Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso), Zabka (Johnny Lawrence), Martin Kove (John Kreese), Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Peyton List (Tory), Gianni Decenzo (Demetri), Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Vanessa Rubio (Carmen), Dallas Dupree Young (Kenny), Yuji Okumoto (Chozen), Alicia Hannah-Kim (Sensei Kim Dae-Un), Griffin Santopietro (Anthony), Oona O’Brien (Devon), Rayna Vallandingham (Zara), Patrick Luwis (Axel) and Lewis Tan (Sensei Wolf).
Cobra Kai is written and executive produced by Heald, Hurwitz and Schlossberg via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive produce for Westbrook Studios along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television. Macchio and Zabka are executive producers.
