“This effort is a key component of the Defense Department’s strategy to accelerate the production and deployment of precision strike weapons to provide our armed forces with the most advanced capabilities and options,” said Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy Laura Taylor-Kale.

It is indicated that the funds provided by the Law on Additional Appropriations for Security Needs in the Indo-Pacific Region and Ukraine for 2024 are used to implement the contract.

Earlier, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, signed the defense budget for next year in the amount of about 895 billion dollars.
