In the occupied Berdyansk, the car of the head of the Russian occupation council of the city, Vasyl Nechet, was blown up, Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, wrote on December 24.

“This morning in Berdyansk, a car exploded and burned to the ground in the yard of a house on European street. An ambulance took the victim from the explosion. Previously, the head of the occupation council, Vasyl Nechet, was traveling in the car,” the post states.

Mykola Matvienko, acting head of the Berdyansk MBA, told Suspilno that Nechet was injured. He was taken to the hospital, information on his condition is currently not available.

The Russian occupation authorities have not yet reported anything about the car explosion.

As Andryushchenko notes, before the occupation of the city, Vasyl Nechet was in charge of the Naftokhimik cultural center. After the occupation, he switched to the side of Russia, took an active part in the formation of the occupying power. He joined the ranks of “United Russia” and was appointed chairman of the occupation council.

Berdyansk was occupied at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in February 2022
