Mass demobilization currently does not meet the interests of national security – Venislavskyi

Mass demobilization currently does not meet the interests of national security – Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security, spoke about the impossibility of mass demobilization due to threats to national security. The rotation system for the military is also not fully implemented due to the aggravation at the front.”, — write on: unn.ua

The rotation system for the military has not yet been fully implemented due to the escalation at the front and the international situation. And mass demobilization during the war currently does not correspond to the interests of national security. Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, said this on Radio NV, reports UNN.

Details

First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Gavryliuk reported at a meeting of the Council that the project on demobilization is almost ready, but it cannot be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada until a sufficient military reserve is prepared to replace the demobilized.

Venislavskyi answered what such a statement indicates, and whether those who are waiting for rotation or demobilization can say goodbye to such thoughts:

“Well, I would divide it into two components. Rotation is something that we constantly talk about at committee meetings with the Chief of the General Staff, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and representatives of the Ministry of Defense. Just a rotational way of providing the opportunity to rest for several months for the servicemen who are directly involved in hostilities, it is necessary today. This is what the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Syrsky, seeks to implement, but due to the aggravation of the situation at the front and international and political events, in particular the election of Trump, it has not yet been possible to realize this”.

Venislavskyi added that the Russians are trying to exert pressure without sparing their human and technical resources. Therefore, a full-fledged rotation system has not yet worked, although the military command is working on it.

As for demobilization or dismissal from military service during martial law, I have already said several times that some of our colleagues voiced and proposed to add relevant provisions to the draft law, which was later withdrawn at the request of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Minister of Defense. In my opinion, this was done either out of a lack of understanding of the consequences of such statements and actions, or with some deliberate malicious intent, but during a full-scale war, to promise mass discharges from military service is, to put it mildly, not in the interests of national security and defense. I do not think that in the near future we will have grounds for a law that would provide for the mass dismissal of military personnel
