Eintracht legend Dieter Lindner passed away at the age of 85.

Former Eintracht defender Dieter Lindner died at the age of 85. This was reported by the press service of the club.

Dieter devoted his entire career to the club from Frankfurt, for which he played 395 matches, in which he scored 66 goals and provided 12 assists.

In 1959, he was one of the key players of the team that triumphed in the German championship.

The following season, Eintracht was represented on the international stage – in the European Champions Cup. Eintracht reached the final of the tournament, where they defeated Real Madrid with a score of 3:7, which is the most successful in the history of the main European Cup.

Lindner’s career ended in 1971, and in the 1966/67 season he picked up a second trophy with the club, winning the Intertoto Cup.
