On the eve of the New Year holidays in Ukraine, the price of imported greenhouse tomatoes increased. This is reported by EastFruit. It is noted that only since the beginning of last week, the price of these vegetables on the domestic market has risen by an average of 20%. As of December 22, imported tomatoes are on sale at UAH 80-100/kg ($1.91-2.38/kg) depending on the quality, volume of the batch and type of product. Advertising: According to market participants, last week the offer of tomatoes on the market was limited. Local factories practically did not make deliveries due to the end of the season, and imported products did not satisfy the existing demand. That is why sellers have increased the sale prices for imported tomatoes. It is also reported that greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine are on average 12% more expensive than in the same period last year. Advertisement: Market players are confident in the further increase in the price of products, since the demand in this segment remains stably high.
