From 09:00 on December 21, the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with 103 Shahed-type strike UAVs and other types of drones from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Berdyansk, as well as an Iskander ballistic missile from Crimea.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Sunday, December 22.
As of 10:00 a.m., the destruction of 52 Shahed attack drones and other types has been confirmed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhia regions.
The air attack was repulsed by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the opposition of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, 44 enemy drone simulators were lost in location (without negative consequences), one UAV flew in the direction of Belarus.
As a result of the Russian strikes in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions, private enterprises, apartment buildings, and citizens’ property were damaged. According to preliminary data, there are no victims, the injured are receiving medical assistance.
On the night of Sunday, December 22, in Brovary, Kyiv region, the roof of a 25-story residential building caught fire due to the falling debris of a drone.
