After the Guardian article, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine replied that the information about the transfer from the air defense to the infantry is unreliable, although it confirmed that other units are being supplemented with Air Force fighters.
Source: General Staff
Details: The department reacted to The Guardian article, which states that the General Staff ordered to send more people from the air defense to the infantry.
According to the department, the statement about “the transfer of air defense personnel to the infantry is unreliable and incorrect”, although he added that in general, transfers do exist.
Literally: “For the purpose of high-quality staffing of the military units that are being formed and restoring their combat capability, a certain number of servicemen from the units of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been reassigned to positions in accordance with their military accounting specialties.
At the same time, this does not apply to air defense specialists who ensure the protection of the Ukrainian sky.”
Details: It is clarified that it is about the reassignment and secondment of part of the servicemen from the “guard companies of the Air Force, some rear mobile fire groups, as well as personnel not involved in the maintenance and operation of high-tech weapons and military equipment.”
According to the General Staff, the main thing at the moment is to hold the front because of a difficult situation.
Prehistory: The Guardian, with reference to the military in air defense, writes that the shortage at the front in Ukraine has become so acute that the General Staff has ordered “already depleted air defense units” to release more people to send them to the front as infantry.
