Tyshchenko’s case: the people’s deputy was ordered to appear in court on December 23

A hearing on the case of People’s Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko and former Kraken special unit fighter Dmytro Pavlov has begun in the Babushkin District Court of Dnipro. This is the first preparatory meeting, at which the preventive measure will be reviewed and evidence will be collected in order to proceed to the merits of the case. Tyshchenko and former policeman Pysarenko are accused of illegally depriving Dmytro Mazokha of his freedom, a war veteran and former fighter of the Kraken special forces.

The conflict between the people’s deputy and the war veteran occurred on June 20, 2024. Then Mykola Tyshchenko came to Dnipro, according to him, “to close fraudulent call centers.” A conflict occurred near one of them.

According to Dmytro Mazokha, that day he was walking with a six-month-old child. When he passed by a group of armed men, they asked him for his documents and, the man said, began to provoke him.

“They were leaving just in time, such a coincidence, I didn’t even know there was a bot farm there. They didn’t like being asked the question, “And who are you? Why are you in uniform, why are you walking around with a weapon in a peaceful city and scaring people without identification marks?” I made a remark, then they thought that I stole the phone,” said the veteran.

According to Dmytro, when he tried to leave the scene of the conflict, people in balaclavas put him face down on the ground.

“Seven men, from different sides, I don’t know, grabbed the child, took the child away, beat and humiliated me. The whole of Ukraine saw it: we left the conflict, realizing that inappropriate things were already happening there,” the victim said.

According to the ex-military lawyer, Tyshchenko ignores court summonses and does not go online, thus delaying the proceedings.

“Obviously, they had a plan prepared: file several motions, then file an appeal with the secretary, then file an appeal with the prosecutor, file several appeals with the judge. That is, all this could delay the process, move beyond December 23. And say: “Here, I am a free man, and I can appear in court without a bracelet,” Vitaliy Kolomiets said.

“During the meeting on December 20 in the Dnipro district court, the prosecutor in the case noted: both suspects were informed about the meeting in a legal way. Since the defendants did not comply with the requirement to connect online, the prosecutor asked the court to oblige Tyshchenko and Pysarenko to appear in the courtroom at the next meeting “, the message says.

However, Tyshchenko’s lawyer noted: due to house arrest, the people’s deputy cannot accept a subpoena and this violates his right to defense.

The judge supported the prosecutor’s request.

“At the next meeting scheduled for December 23, people’s deputy Mykola Tyshchenko and ex-policeman Bohdan Pisarenko are obliged to appear in person,” the message states.
