The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: since the beginning of the day, there have been almost 150 combat clashes at the front

Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat clashes along the entire front line has increased to 146. The largest number of assaults by Russian troops was recorded in the Pokrovsky direction and in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, according to the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 4:00 p.m.

“Forty combat clashes took place today in the Kursk direction, in addition, the enemy launched one missile attack and 260 artillery shells,” the post states.

According to the headquarters, in the Pokrovsky direction, the Russian army attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 31 times in the areas of Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Novy Trud, Dachenske, Vovkovo, Pischane, Novovasylivka, Novoelizavetivka, Novooleksiivka, and Ukrainka.

“In the Kurakhiv direction, our defenders repelled 19 skirmishes in the areas of the settlements of Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Andriivka, Kurakhove, Dachne, Dalnye, Kostiantynopolske and Kostiantynopol. “Sixteen enemy assaults have already been repelled by our defenders, and three more clashes are ongoing,” the military said.

Combat operations were also recorded in the Kupyan, Lyman, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Vremiv, Orihiv and Dnieper directions.

In the Kharkiv, Siver and Gulyaipil directions, the Russian forces did not conduct active operations since the beginning of the era.

As reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, as of December 17, the Defense Forces are conducting active combat operations on a section of the front with a total length of more than 1,170 kilometers, the most difficult situation now is in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions.

Sirskyi also reported on December 17 that the Russian military has been conducting “intense offensive actions” in the Kursk region for the third day, actively using units of the North Korean army.
