An air alert was declared throughout Ukraine due to the missile threat. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the Russian MiG-31K, a potential carrier of the Dagger missiles, had taken off.

Later, the Air Force warned of rockets in the direction of Kyiv, and explosions could be heard in the city.

The Kyiv City Military Administration noted that air defense is operating in the capital of Ukraine, and urged people to stay in shelters.

Later, it was reported there that as a result of a missile attack by Russian troops on Kyiv, cars caught fire in the Holosiivskyi district. Also, in the Dnipro district, the falling of debris into the unfinished building was recorded.

The victims have not yet been informed. However, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klychko, announced that medics had been called to Holosiivska district.

In the morning, on December 20, the head of the KMVA, Serhiy Popko, reported on the nighttime Russian strike by drones on Kyiv.

“Enemy drones entered Kyiv in several waves. An air alert was declared twice in the capital during the night. “All Russian drones that threatened Kyiv were detected and neutralized on the approaches to the city and on the territory of the capital by the forces and means of air defense,” the message reads.

According to the KMVA, previously, the fall of drone wreckage in the Desnyan district on the territory of non-residential buildings was recorded. There was no information about critical destruction, fire or victims, the report says.

Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service reported on the morning of December 20 about a fire in a warehouse in the Kyiv region.

“Today at 00:50, as a result of another hostile drone attack, a warehouse with an area of ​​15,000 m² caught fire in the territory of Boryspil district. 72 emergency workers of the State Emergency Service and 24 units of equipment are working on the spot… The fire was contained at 04:05. There are no dead or injured,” the State Emergency Service said.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
