“The Council calls for an urgent intensification of efforts, in particular, regarding the supply of air defense systems, ammunition and missiles, as well as providing the necessary training and equipment for Ukrainian brigades. The Council of the EU emphasizes the importance of intensifying work on the further support and development of the defense industry of Ukraine and deepening its cooperation with the EU defense industry,” the European Council said in a statement after the EU summit.
EU leaders remind of the importance of implementing all components of the G7 initiative “Emergency loans to accelerate revenues to the budget of Ukraine” (ERA), including the component of military needs, and call for the speedy implementation of decisions within the framework of the European Peace Fund, acceleration of work on strengthening the EU Mission to provide military aid in support of Ukraine.

The statement also states that the European Council supports a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the principles of the UN Charter and international law, in accordance with the key principles and goals of the “peace formula” of Ukraine, and emphasizes the principle that no initiative regarding Ukraine should be carried out without participation of Ukraine.
