The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading and as a whole draft law No. 12178 on the liquidation of medical and social expert commissions – this was reported by several people’s deputies on December 19.

According to their reports, 259 parliamentarians voted for the document in the second reading.

The adoption of the draft law was also commented on by the Ministry of Health, stating that it initiates the reform of MSEK and introduces the assessment of daily functioning.

“Already from January 1, 2025, expert teams of medical practitioners will establish disability instead of outdated, corrupt MSEK,” the message reads.

The Ministry of Health clarifies that the law provides for the automatic formation of expert teams based on the principle of randomness. At the same time, all documents issued by MSEK before January 1, 2025 remain valid.

On October 22, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, put into effect the decision of the NSDC regarding the activities of the MSEC, which provides for the liquidation of medical and social expert commissions, the verification of their decisions, and the reform of the MSEC system in Ukraine.
