During the approach to the press, Koshta said that the war in Ukraine will be the first issue at today’s EU summit.
“This war is not only about Ukraine, not only about Europe, it is about the international order. International law must prevail, invasion (Russia – ed.) must be defeated,” he said.
Another issue on the agenda will be Europe’s interaction with the world, he added.
Zelenskyi, in turn, said that during the two-day summit he plans to focus, in particular, on the protection of the Ukrainian energy industry.
“I am talking, of course, about nuclear energy, which is very dangerous not only for Ukraine, but also for the whole of Europe, if something goes wrong. Also, gas storages, their protection is also very important for Ukraine and Europe.”

The second topic, according to Zelenskyi, will be the increase in defense production.
“Third: How to urgently help Ukrainian children, save and strengthen the protection of our network of schools. It’s about bomb shelters, food, many different things that are very important to our families,” the president said.
He also called the topic of Europe’s global role important for Ukraine, calling for unity between European countries and the United States, especially at the beginning of next year.
“We need this unity to achieve peace. I think that only together the USA and Europe can stop Putin and save Ukraine,” he added.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced his arrival in Brussels the day before, announcing a series of meetings with European leaders.
In Brussels, Zelensky is expected to join the summit of EU leaders on December 19. According to the EU official, the Ukrainian leader will tell his colleagues about the current situation on the battlefield and share his vision for its further development.
