The key topic of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels is security guarantees for Ukraine, the Office of the President reported on December 19.

“It is very important to use these two days in Brussels to meet with all our partners and have the same, and very importantly, not divided – the same, common European position on how to secure Ukraine, how to strengthen our people and, of course, make our army,” the press service of the President of Ukraine quotes.

It is indicated that during the meeting, the leaders paid special attention to the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense.

Before the meeting, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that they will talk about strengthening Ukraine now, and “when peace comes”, it will also be necessary to think about Ukraine’s economy and not only buy weapons, but also buy them from Ukraine.

Earlier, Zelensky met with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Brussels.
