According to her, the report on the return from the SZCH will be considered for 24 hours. Also, a serviceman can choose for himself the part where he wants to serve. This requires a letter from the military unit.
“If a person returns from the SZH for the first time, no sanctions are applied to him. Moreover, all measures of reintegration, reinstatement in the service, all social benefits will be guaranteed and quickly carried out for the person,” said the Deputy Minister of Defense.
In August, the Parliament of Ukraine approved a law that proposes not to punish the first voluntary desertion of a military unit (SZCH) or desertion, if the soldier returns on his own and the commander allows him to continue his service.
And on November 29, the law on the voluntary return to service of those who voluntarily left a military unit or deserted for the first time entered into force. It provides that, during the martial law, servicemen who voluntarily left military units for the first time, but later voluntarily arrived at the place of service, the contract continues. Cash payments are also being renewed.
The State Bureau of Investigation stated that servicemen who voluntarily return to service before January 1, 2025 will be reinstated with all social guarantees.
