According to the UATV channel, Gili said the purpose of the visit was to discuss with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov a joint action plan to strengthen Ukraine “not only now, but also during 2025 and beyond.”
As quoted by Ukrinform, in a Blitz interview with the agency, Gili answered the question of whether, in his opinion, the next presidential administration of the United States is capable of ending the war in Ukraine:
“It is the Ukrainians who are fighting now, and it is up to the Ukrainians to decide when to start negotiations.”

Gili also called it Britain’s duty to support Ukraine, and expressed confidence that this will happen in the future.
The Minister of Defense also announced that his country is increasing military aid to Ukraine with a new aid package “which includes naval drones, air defense equipment and artillery.”
Officially, the parties have not yet announced the arrival of Gili to Kyiv.
