This year, the Ukrzaliznytsia company reached such indicators of passenger transportation, which were before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in February 2022.
The relevant results were published by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
During the current year, 57.2 million passengers were transported in long-distance and suburban connections.
As noted in the department, evacuation flights played a significant role, thanks to which more than 4 million people, including 1 million children, were able to reach safe locations.
Currently, Ukrzaliznytsia carries out transportation on more than 100 domestic routes and on more than 20 international routes, including through Khelm, Chop and Rava-Ruska.
Next year, the company plans to purchase 80 new electric locomotives, 40 diesel locomotives, 56 new passenger cars and to implement the project of reconstruction of the track of the European standard 1,435 mm on the Chop – Uzhhorod section.
Earlier we wrote that during the Christmas and New Year holidays, Ukrzaliznytsia will launch six additional flights.
