Rheinmetall announced the delivery of 20 more Marder BMPs to Ukraine

The German concern Rheinmetall has received an order for the delivery of 20 more Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, which will be financed by the German government, the company’s website says.

It is indicated that the delivery is planned for the first half of 2025.

In the 1A3 version, the Marder is equipped with an additional laser rangefinder for efficient and accurate engagement of targets. The first 20 combat vehicles of this type were delivered by the concern to the order of the German government in March 2023. On November 20, the German government announced a new military aid package for Ukraine.

The German government noted that so far about 5 billion euros (2023) and about 1.6 billion euros (2022) have been spent on military aid to Ukraine. Another 2.9 billion euros were allocated in the first two years of the war for supplies that will arrive only in 2025-2028.
