Details

At the same time, France said that the raising of the flag does not mean the automatic restoration of its embassy.

The governments of Britain and France sent their representatives to negotiate with the Syrian authorities, and the European Union said it was preparing to establish contacts with Damascus.

In turn, German diplomats are also planning negotiations with the new Syrian government. They will focus on the transition process for Syria and the protection of minorities. Germany is also studying the possibilities of a diplomatic presence in Damascus.

We will remind

As I wrote earlier UNN four French diplomats went to Syria on December 17 to establish the first contacts with the new government. The mission aims to restore French influence and assess the humanitarian needs of the population.

Also, the secretary of the transitional government of Syria, Obeyda Arnaut, called on Russia to reconsider its military presence in the country after the overthrow of the Assad regime. The new government is negotiating with other countries and seeks to improve international relations.
