The first match took place on May 18, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Oleksandr Usyk received the status of absolute world champion after winning by split decision (114–113, 113–114, 115–112).

Usyk then relinquished the IBF belt, leaving it as a gift for the winner of the fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois. Therefore, the title of absolute world champion in super heavyweight is not at stake in the rematch – the list is missing this IBF belt.

Ukrainian boxers Serhiy Bogachuk, Daniel Lapin and Andriy Novytskyi will perform in the undercard of the match.
