On December 17, in Doha (Qatar), an awards ceremony was held for the best football players in the world based on the results of the season according to the FIFA version called The Best FIFA Football Awards 2024.

In addition to the best player and coach, the best goalkeeper of 2024 was also named. It became him Emiliano Martinez. The Ukrainian goalkeeper of Real Madrid also applied for the award Andriy Lunin.

Representatives of Ukraine also took part in the voting: the captain of the “blue and yellow” Mykola Matvienko and coach of the Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrov.

Matvienko gave first place to Lunin. Mykola put David Raya in the second position, and Ederson in the third position.

But Rebrov, who entrusted Andriy with a place in goal in the opening game at Euro-2024 against Romania (0:3), decided not to include the Ukrainian in the top-3. His trio looks like this: Unai Simon, Emiliano Martinez, Ederson.
