The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense Dmytro Lazutkin said this on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.
Details
The Ministry of Defense has currently allocated an additional 1 billion 890 million hryvnias for the purchase of drones. 55% of this amount will go to Mavic-type drones, particularly models with night vision, which are especially needed on the touchline. 18% of the amount will be directed to the purchase of FPV-kamikaze. In addition, significant funds will be allocated for reconnaissance UAVs, bombers and sets of spare parts for them. This order of the Minister of Defense will be implemented as soon as possible. Procurement with state funds is taking place
He answered for which brigades UAVs will be purchased and whether the number will depend on the situation at the front.
Certainly. The teams will independently form their orders, because it is about the purchase of UAVs under decentralized procurement. Depending on their needs, those brigades that are on the front line will form requests
He added that the brigades will independently determine which drones they need to perform combat missions. Each brigade works in its own area, has specific tasks that may differ depending on the situation on the front line.
According to Lazutkin, the Ministry of Defense will spend more than 100 billion hryvnias on drones this year.
This is a very important component – strengthening the technological capacity of the Armed Forces. Because we know, war is now becoming more and more technological, and securing a technological advantage over the enemy is a key factor in increasing a country’s defense capabilities.
