During the inspection, the border guards together with the employees of the Bureau of Economic Security found machines for packing tobacco products in paper packs and machines for making paper packs of cigarette products.
Law enforcement officers seized the equipment and ordered a number of forensic examinations.
Earlier, the Bureau of Economic Security together with the State Border Service detained a large batch of contraband cigarettes with a total value of UAH 165.6 million in the Odesa port. The three sea containers contained more than 2 million packs of cigarettes, which were without excise tax stamps and manufactured in August 2024.
