Atalanta and Nigeria striker Ademola Luqman has been named the best player in Africa in 2024. This was reported by the CAF press service.

Luqman beat Ashraf Hakimi (PSG, Morocco), Sera Girassi (Borussia D, Guinea), Simon Adingra (Brighton, Ivory Coast) and Rowen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa) in the race for the award.

This year, Lukman together with Atalanta won the Europa League. Last season, he played 45 matches, scored 17 goals and provided nine assists.

The best player in the domestic arena and the best goalkeeper of the year was Rowen Williams, who represents Mamelodi Sundowns and the South African national team.

Monaco midfielder Lamin Camara has been named African Young Player of the Year, taking home the award for the second consecutive year.

Emers Fae became the best coach of the year. The 40-year-old Ivorian, together with his native team, won the African Cup of Nations.

Al-Ittihad and Angola striker Mabululu won the award for the best goal.
