Briefly about today.
The report of Chief Commissar Syrsky – and regarding the situation at the front, especially Donetsk region, the greatest attention is paid to the directions there. And also regarding the situation in the regions of the Kursk operation. Holovkom reported on the participation of North Korean soldiers in battles on the side of the Russian army. There are many details about the destruction of these forces as well. According to preliminary data, the Russians are trying to hide the losses of the North Koreans. The Defense Forces of Ukraine and our intelligence are finding out full information about the real losses of Russian units, in which the Koreans are also involved. Unfortunately, we also have to defend ourselves against them. Although there is no reason why Koreans should also die in this war. The only reason is Putin’s insanity, which has engulfed Russia and is fueling this war. We will continue to defend our positions.
Today there is an important 15th package of EU sanctions, and I am grateful to our partners for this support of forcing Russia to peace. Among other things, there are sanctions against the shadow tanker fleet that Russia uses to finance aggression. And this is now an important step: and all the Russian tankers, all the companies and individuals who help Russia finance the war – that all of them will eventually be sanctioned. It is necessary to continue this pressure on Russia and not let them adapt to the sanctions. The heavier the sanctions are for Russia, the faster they will go into real and genuine diplomacy.
Today there was also a report by the head of government regarding cooperation with our partners, in particular financial cooperation. The Prime Minister reported that 20 billion dollars of funds from frozen Russian assets are already in the World Bank account. Work with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development was also discussed separately. There are specific programs. Next year, we will be able to add additional energy thanks to these EBRD programs alone. There are also additional funds for energy efficiency programs. It is very important to implement everything as soon as possible.
And one more thing.
We are gradually agreeing with our diplomats on new appointments of ambassadors of Ukraine and replacements in the diplomatic corps. We are preparing to strengthen our team – the team of Ukraine. Foreign policy work next year will be even more intense than this year, and should be strong. The next year should be a time of peace – a reliable peace. And I am grateful to all partners who help. Strong and coordinated work is the most important thing.
