The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited one of the divisions of the 27th Petro Kalnyshevskyi reactive artillery brigade, inspected the equipment, listened to a report and awarded the soldiers with state awards.
It was this brigade that was the first in Ukraine to receive HIMARS systems and now provides artillery support for the defense of the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.
The head of state listened to the report of the commander of the “Tavria” UAV Gennady Shapovalov about the operations performed, in particular with the use of long-range weapons, the peculiarities of the use of HIMARS systems and the dynamics of supplying ammunition to them.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the defenders on the Day of the Ground Forces and the recent Day of Missile Forces and Artillery and awarded them with the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the I-III degrees and “For Courage” of the III degree.
“It is very nice to be with you today, to reward you, to thank you for your service, for protecting Ukraine, the families of all Ukrainians, our Motherland. Thank you. I wish you health, endurance, strength, victory. Let the “Highmars” not fail, let them hit the enemy’s targets,” said the President.
