“In the Kurakhov direction, this city (Kurakhove – ed.) is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but the enemy does not stop trying, our military is conducting active combat operations to hold positions. The situation is, of course, complicated due to the enemy’s significant advantage in manpower,” Voloshyn said.
According to him, in the direction of Kurakhiv, the enemy carried out active assaults on the southeastern outskirts and, in particular, in the urban development of the southern part of the city of Kurakhiv.
“Of course, there is a concentration of personnel reserves in the Kurakhiv direction and near the city,” Voloshyn said.
He noted that considerable enemy forces are operating against the Defense Forces there:
-90 tank division;
-20 motorized rifle division;
-5th and 110th motorized rifle brigades.
“For the enemy in this direction, it is important to align the front line, because this will give him the opportunity to both regroup and withdraw some units for recovery, and then concentrate them for a further offensive in this area, just like in the Pokrovsky direction. That is, the enemy has the task of leaving on the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Voloshyn said.

OSUV “Khortytsia” reported that last day, December 15, Russian troops tried to improve the tactical position near Storozhevo, Dachensky and Zelenivka, but retreated with losses. At the same time, the enemy actively stormed in the Novy Komar area, in the urban buildings of Chasovoy Yar and the southern part of Kurakhovo.
