The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to rename the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories into the Ministry of National Unity, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

“This institutional strengthening will help to form a new quality of work and interaction with the multi-million Ukrainian community from all waves of migration. The creation of the Ministry of National Unity will also contribute to the formation of a strategy on how to return Ukrainians to live and work in Ukraine,” Shmyhal wrote in a telegram.

On December 3, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksiy Chernyshov to the position of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.

From November 2022, Chernyshov heads Naftogaz of Ukraine. Prior to that, he was the Minister of Community and Territorial Development, and even earlier he headed the Kyiv OVA (since October 2019).
