Detectives, dramas, fantasy: what to watch this winter weekend

Spy passions, hunting criminals, saving humanity, testing true feelings, exciting and dangerous adventures – all this and even more for fans of adventure movies. UNN has prepared a selection of adventure films that you can watch on the weekend.

Bridge of Spies (Bridge of Spies) 2015 – a film based on events that took place in world history. The action takes place during the so-called “cold war”. Then there was a worsening of diplomatic relations between the United States and the Soviet Union, and although it did not lead to a real conflict, a show of force and a race for the title of the most prepared state for war was observed for many years. Thanks to the actions of the CIA, it is possible to identify a Russian spy who was passing data to his leadership. The suspect is arrested, and the case is taken to court. The people demand to execute the scoundrel to show how powerful and almighty their country is. The Russian spy is not going to say anything in his defense, but simply remains silent, not paying attention to various tortures. James Donovan, an ordinary insurance lawyer, is assigned to defend a spy in order to conduct a fair trial.

However, the government does not pay attention to warnings and is in no hurry to announce the alarm, considering the disaster to be local outbreaks. At this time, Jack’s son, who went with friends to New York, gets into trouble. Rapid climate change finds him far from his native home. The cold weather comes so suddenly that most people die, being taken by surprise by this terrible, raging element. Fortunately, the boy manages to escape, but now he has to wait for his father, who is trying to make his way to him through the dangerous icy desert.

The ruler’s plans end in success – many years of training are not in vain, and yesterday’s youths gradually turn into experienced warriors who can cope with any task. With any, but far from all – Eric and Sara, two of Freya’s students, break her main prohibition and fall in love. When their ruler finds out about this, she immediately kicks the violators out of the palace. Once free, the heroes of the spectacular fantasy find new friends who open their eyes to the truth: the sisters, despite their enmity, are a real threat to the whole world. Winter fantasy (Winter’s Tale) 2014 – when the main character of the film, Peter Lake, was still a baby, his parents tried to move to America, but due to the fact that his father was sick with tuberculosis, they were not allowed to enter the country. Then they send their son there alone. Years later, when Peter grew up, he becomes a professional thief and works under the leadership of gangster Perla Soames, who thanks to the boy’s talents turns his crimes.

But one day Peter gets fed up with this existence and decides to run away from the city to try to start a new life. However, at this very moment, something happens to the hero that he could not have foreseen – Peter falls in love with a beautiful girl named Beverly Penn, who is dying from a serious illness every day. How will Peter act in the situation, because if he chooses Beverly, he will definitely put her in serious danger, because a former boss with magical abilities is following him.

The ugly eight (The Hateful Eight) 2015 – the events of the film take place in Wyoming after the Civil War. John “The Hangman” Ruth, who makes a business of apprehending fugitive criminals, heads to Red Rock with a rich prey, gangster Daisy Domerga. In the town, the criminal awaits the sentence and the gallows, and her lucky pursuer – ten thousand dollars of the promised fee. On the way, two people board the Hangman’s stagecoach – a dark-skinned bounty hunter, mercenary “Marquis” Warren, and a former confederate named Chris Mannix, who called himself the sheriff. A snowstorm that has just begun forces random travelers to take shelter in a haberdashery on the pass. Another quartet has already settled here: a cowboy, a Mexican, a retired general of the Confederacy and the Hangman – a local criminal-crook. Soon, one of the “lawmen” who accompanies Daisy begins to reasonably suspect that an accomplice of the bloody bandit is lurking among the guests of the institution.
